Mouse Proofing

Louder than you'd think

It's important to keep mice out of your home to prevent health hazards and damage to your electrical wiring.

Unchecked corners can be a pain

The majority of the corners on your house have a 1/2 gap that goes into either wall of sill-plate.

Sealed gap under wall

Many outdoor buildings have a gap at the bottom of their screened walls.

Gapped sill-plate

With certain kids of foundations there can be quite a few entrances along the sill-plate. Brick and fieldstone are the biggest culprits.

Mice are a problem no-one wants to deal with. They make you uncomfortable in your home where you are supposed to feel safe. The first step towards retaking your castle is to make sure these critters can't get into your home.

We at Liberty can make that happen. After you schedule an on-site inspection, one of our skilled technicians will go around your building and explain all the ways mice are making their way into your home.  When these access points are identified, our technicians will block these pathways with a packing material and an expanding foam infused with pepper that deters pests that chew it. Once all these mouse holes are filled we can move on to the next step in eradicating your rodent problem.

Step two is to reduce the population of mice in your home to a manageable level. What we at Liberty do to accomplish this is to use snap traps enclosed in bait stations to ensure the safety of pets and children. While others may use poison, it's not something we can recommend. Not only does it take days to kill the animal, it can be harmful to pets that may consume the mouse when it expires. The other downside of poison is that if the mice die in the walls of your home, you'll have a stink in your walls you can't get rid of for days to weeks. The trapping routine is scheduled on a monthly basis consisting of 8 visits (two visits a week for 4 weeks). After the population has been lowered, one of our technicians can advance to the final step of Liberty's mouse sealing plan.

After the population is successfully lowered, The final step is to seal off the mouse highways in your home to prevent them travelling into your common areas. Examples of the interior sealing would be sealing around the pipes under your sink, sealing around the wires and pipes that pass through your ceiling in the basement, and the doorway that goes into your house from the basement.

If you continue to maintain a few traps in you basement or attic after Liberty seals your home, you can keep your home mouse free.
